Next-generation Biological Food Waste Processor
Vermicomposting machines offer an eco-friendly solution to transform kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich fertilizer. Follow this step-by-step guide to maximize efficiency and ensure optimal results.
Begin by chopping kitchen waste—such as fruit peels, vegetable scraps, and coffee grounds—into small pieces to accelerate decomposition. Avoid adding hard or non-biodegradable materials like eggshells, bones, or plastic. Remove excess oils, as grease can harm the worms and disrupt the composting process.
Start by adding a moist bedding layer of shredded newspaper or coconut coir to the machine. Introduce red wiggler worms (Eisenia fetida), the most efficient species for vermicomposting. Spread the preprocessed waste evenly over the bedding. For best results, maintain a balanced ratio of "green" (nitrogen-rich) and "brown" (carbon-rich) materials. Use the machine’s automatic worm collection tray to separate mature worms after 12 hours of inactivity, ensuring continuous composting cycles.
When the compost fills half the machine, activate the rotation mechanism. Centrifugal force will separate finished compost into the collection tray while aerating the remaining pile. This prevents compaction and promotes oxygen flow, essential for microbial activity.
By following these guidelines, you’ll transform kitchen waste into black gold—a potent fertilizer for gardens or houseplants. Regular maintenance ensures long-term efficiency and sustainability.
